I've packaged LDGLite and the free subset of the LDraw Parts Library
as Debian packages. At the moment they are available for
Debian/unstable on the PowerPC architecture from:

deb http://edb.jacob-sparre.dk/debian/ unstable main
deb-src http://edb.jacob-sparre.dk/debian/ unstable main

I hope to be able to add versions for more architectures soon.
