CRM is clearly compromised by SPAM since the signal to noise ratio is now
nearly zero. Is there a way to vet posters/postings? I'm not an expert
obviously, but it is clear that CRM should be abandoned under its current
conditions.

Hey Dennis -- Gordon set up an alternate site at:

http://robotpalace.com/forum/index.php#1

Alternatively, you can use a better news provider that's more proactive
with the sporge -- but those are few and far between. Filtering these is
possible, but not everyone has that capability, which just reduces the
numbers of active participants. There is a moderated ng, but I think
it's announcements only (comp.robotics.announcements?).

aioe.cjb.net

Provides free individual news feeds, and the admin is really good about
filtering the sporge. I've been using that for most of my CRM lurking.
